Our Story

How it all started...August 2015

The first info meeting for Hope City Church took place on August 30, 2015 at the home of our founding pastors Justin and Trisha Davis.

Furniture was moved, more BBQ was ordered and the vision of Hope City was given words, breath and life on this Sunday evening.

Over the next year, a launch team of about 50 adults was developed with the purpose and mission of launching Hope City in the fall of 2016.

Launching Hope City-September 2016

Hope City started on September 18, 2016 at the Ritz Charles Banquet Hall in Carmel, IN.

Over 300 people came to the launch of this new movement of hope in our city.

Over the next year, Hope City would meet at Carmel Middle School and The Ritz Charles. God brought growth in our Connection Group ministry and our volunteer team to prepare us for the next move we'd make in the fall of 2017.

He goes before us...October 2017

In October 2017, our lease with the Ritz Charles was coming to an unforeseen end. We needed to find a place to move our one-year-old church. A place where we could grow, expand and create an identity.

Within a few days of hearing about a stripmall location on Main Street in Carmel, several people at Hope City stepped out in faith, gave over $50,000 to secure a new location that would be our home for the next two years.

God once again showed himself faithful in providing what we needed, when we needed it.

Seldom early but never late...January 2020

As a young growing church we had a great facility on Main Street in Carmel, but an owner that wanted to increase our rent by 30% and lock us into a three-year lease.

Our leadership team made the difficult decision to move, but we had no idea where we'd go. The same day we declined a lease extension which triggered a 30-day moving timeline, we received an email from Hope Church, an established church at the corner of Keystone Ave and 98th Street in Indianapolis.

They were open to renting their facility to us, and we could move in within our 30-day timeline.

The week between Christmas and New Year's an army of Hope City volunteers packed up our facility on Main Street and unpacked in our current location, 2500 E. 98th St. in Indianapolis.

Our first service in our new location was January 4, 2020 and we ran out of chairs in both services. God had come through again in ways we couldn't ask or imagine.

These days we are praying about a long term home for Hope City Church. We know that God has gone before us and is preparing a place for us to help even more people find hope and follow him.
